Discussion Questions::: I Believe in God but want to do my own thing

 1. In 1 Kings 18:21, Elijah asks, "How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions?"

Where in your life today are you "hobbling" between following God fully and chasing something else for satisfaction?

2. In 1 Kings 18:26, the prophets of Baal cried out and danced all day, but "there was no reply of any kind."
When has a "false god" (like success, comfort, control, or approval) left you feeling empty, and how did you respond?

3. In 1 Kings 18:36–37, Elijah prays that God would prove He is the true God and bring the people back to Himself.
What would it look like for you to pray that same kind of prayer over your own life or your family this week?

4. In 1 Kings 18:38–39, when the fire fell, the people immediately recognized, "The Lord—He is God!"
What needs to happen in your heart or habits for you to live in a way that clearly shows others that the Lord is God?

5. Looking back at the four deeper idols (Power, Control, Comfort, Approval), which one is most tempting for you right now?
How might you be tempted to "hobble" between trusting God and trusting that idol (1 Kings 18:21)?

6. "I Will" Statement:
What is one thing I WILL do in the following week, based on what I read in God's Word?
