Discussion Questions: "If the Grave is Certainly Empty, Then Nothing is Uncertain with God"

Whether you're processing the message alone, in a group, or over coffee with a friend—these questions are designed to help you wrestle with the hope and challenge of Easter.

1. What’s a time in your life when uncertainty felt overwhelming?
How did you respond to it? Did it draw you closer to God or cause you to doubt?

2. “We had hoped…” — Read Luke 24:21

"We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel..."

Can you relate to that feeling—when something you hoped for didn’t happen?
What’s something you hoped God would do that hasn’t turned out the way you expected?

3. Jesus walked with the disciples even when they didn’t recognize Him.
What does that say about how God shows up in our uncertainty, even when we don’t feel His presence?

4. Read Luke 24:30–31

"As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them. Suddenly, their eyes were opened..."

Why do you think they finally recognized Jesus at the table, in such an ordinary moment?
What helps open your eyes to Jesus in the middle of confusion or pain?

5. What’s one specific way you will respond to today’s message?
Finish this sentence:
👉 “I will…”
(Example: “I will trust God with ______ even though I don’t have all the answers.”)
