1. Reflect on a time when God led you into a season of isolation or felt cut down, similar to Elijah at the Kerith Brook. How did that period shape your relationship with God?
2. In the story of Elijah, God provided food and water every morning and evening, teaching him total reliance. What areas of your life do you struggle to trust God with fully? How can you learn to rely on Him in those areas?
Scripture: 1 Kings 17:4 - "Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them to bring you food."
3. God instructed Elijah to go to a widow in Zarephath, which seemed illogical. Is there an area in your life where you feel God is calling you to obey, even though it seems difficult or unreasonable? How will you respond?
Scripture: 1 Kings 17:9 - "Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you."
4, Reflect on a time when you had to trust God for provision in an unexpected way. What did you learn about His faithfulness during that time?
Scripture: Philippians 4:19 - "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."
5. What are the areas of your life where you hold on to control instead of trusting God? How can you surrender these areas to Him and begin trusting Him more fully?
6. Sometimes God leads us through difficult or uncomfortable seasons for our growth. Can you identify areas where God might be refining you, even if it’s painful? How can you embrace His work in your life?
Scripture: Hebrews 12:11 - "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."
7. After reflecting on these truths, what is one step of obedience you feel God is calling you to take today? It might be trusting Him with something you’ve been holding back or stepping out in faith in a new area of your life.
Scripture: Isaiah 6:8 - "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'"
